true, I also think it is useless...
it has some advantages:
-anonymous posting
-image attachment
but also drawbacks:
-as bitshifter said its not possible to comment. And this feature would be very interesting to add informations, or make a review..

i have to find a solution...and the forum has a lack of activity since too much time...i wanted to stop it (it will be the 2nd dead chiptune forum ) but there are too much nice posts...so i have to give it a second chance
maybe I will change the forum engine: punbb is excellent, very fast, clean, secure, but the aim of punbb is to be light...so if you want to add private messaging, calendar, etc..its a big mess

i wanted to make a sort of community, but there is also micromusic.net

maybe it should be a good idea to list what we already have in the chiptune scene...
-news comes from vorc
-micromusic is THE community
-gameboymall hosts mp3..

...and list what is missing:
-an active forum running with for example simplemachinesforum (its free), it has a built-in calendar and lots of features...
-a blog?
-an other music/video hosting service with more platforms?(c64,nes,snes,gb,...)
-a wiki?(usefull?)
-etc...

if you have other ideas don't hesitate
and if you want to help me to make an usefull and needed tool for the community, you're welcome too
