I was wondering, how do compose melodies?
I mean, do you spend a night messing around with your keyboard or do you find melodies immediatly?

I think I spend too much time playing on my keyboard, trying to find the right notes in the right tone....And the result is usually a really crappy melody....

How about you?

sometimes melodies come in my dreams.. at some rare occasions : )

otherwise i have to improvize a bit...

anyway, try to start with accords, put some together.. then the bass.. and melody should come automatically : )

i'm with nule. just come up with them, or set a scale suitable for the mood you want, and it should be easy to get melodies even if it's not the national inspiration day.
