Re: Nanoloop 1.3

i was initially dissappointed when he said it would be cart only, but the flash memory should be nice.

Re: Nanoloop 1.3

If it was possible to pay just for the rom, I'd gladly buy it but as it is I don't think I'll use v1.3.

I've had v1.1 for quite a number of years but I've got to admit that I haven't used nanoloop a lot since I bought LSDJ a few years ago. An improved rom version would have been a way to remotivate me to use this software...

Anyway, for people who haven't been able to find GB backup devices, this is indeed good news.

Re: Nanoloop 1.3

osc, i'm with you ... i tried nanoloops out a few times over the years but it never struck me. i have heard some good stuff programed with it (saitone kicks some wikkid shit w/ nano2.0, and neotericz first release on m3d is all nano1.0) but a majority of the pure-nanoloop tracks i've heard stick out like sore thumbs.

while the nanoloop rom can't be ripped and used on another gb cart, you can use it in emulators that support save states and not be missing any functionality.  this works fine on a gba with goomba or on a gp32 with fgb32.

anyway--there seems to be this whole cart scarcity-falsity! it's a simple matter to pick up a GB TRANSFERER and carts ... i hate providing links because stock varries at places, but robwebb/familyGame has been pretty good for classic backup stuff. if robwebb is out, there's a group over at yahoo called lsdj-backup with the latest lowdown and links.

Re: Nanoloop 1.3

i got a gb transferer from rob webb over the summer; best £49 i ever spent.  from my experiences with the demo, nanoloop isn't nearly as able to stand alone as lsdj (or any other tracker for that matter,) but it certainly is more intuitive and can be used as a good drum machine to free up channels on lsdj for more melody lines or wtv.  they both have their pluses and minuses.

Re: Nanoloop 1.3

I'm happy about this next release of nanoloop too,
I guess any new tool for chip tunes bring us some fresh air.

Thanks for your nice words on my (neotericz) release, Starpause!
Is such an honour, coming from you smile
The nnlp version I own is 1.2 (I don't know the bug diferences between versions wink
but is labeled on the manual.

I found myself LSDJ wide complete and versatile. But part of my heart will be always with nano, that minimal interface and that special sound.

Btw. I want to do some exporations on carrillon, black box and pocket music, but my soul is not letting much music flow this last times hmm

Thanks for reading my nonsense

Re: Nanoloop 1.3

ignat, i had a hard time with those gb trackers you mentioned as well. lsdj is a god send, i'll say it over and over and over ... it is the best music sequencer ...

the synths inside a gameboy are nothing incredible on their own (nes has more channels, sid has that warm filter), but lsdj gives you the power to dive so deep into the synthesis ... overthruster was doing live shit on the radio today, the sounds were striaght up LIQUID, like you'd expect out of an er-1 ...

nano does have it's own special sound, very charactersistic. honestly, most the time that bothers me and i cringe ... it sounds so default! :/

the interface is interesting and experimental. i'd try it out on my gp32 but it's so hard to tear myself away from piggy for lsdj ... haha oooh
